Event Company looking for people to join Event Staff Team (Owings Mills, MD)
Job Responsibilities for Event Staff position include, but are not limited to:
Directing Vehicles/Traffic
Event Set-up and Clean-up
Selling concessions during the event
Taking admission tickets at the door
Dealing Casino Games (i.e. Blackjack, Roulette, Craps)
Duties may vary based on the event
Setting up inflatables
This position is part-time. Typical hours are afternoons and nights for anywhere from 5 to 12 hours a shift, Thursday through Sunday. However we do work 7 days a week so all days may be available. Hours may change, depending on event type. We do hire people that are only able to work one specific day as well as people who are able to work multiple days throughout the week. No experience is necessary, but does definitely help. We are willing to train the right person. Every event is different so it is very difficult to describe every possible requirement of this job.

Located on Main Street in Charlottesville, Orzo Kitchen & Wine Bar is seeking a Chef to begin work in July of 2012. Our current chef is leaving C-ville this summer and we are looking for a Chef to lead our professional kitchen.
Orzo Kitchen & Wine Bar has been serving the highest quality Mediterranean food in C-ville for over 5 years and has an established customer base. We are located in the Main Street Market, a collection of gourmet shops, akin to the Ferry Building in San Francisco and the Chelsea Market in NYC. This prime location allows us to source from an in-house fishmonger, baker, organic butcher, and spice lady. In addition we source as many local ingredients as possible from neighboring farms.
We are building the best culinary team in Charlottesville and are now in need of a working Chef to continue to improve on our current success.
The Chef will assure that Orzo continues to have a professional kitchen that uses the best culinary techniques. The Chef must have experience with Mediterranean cuisine and believe strongly in fostering a safe kitchen environment that promotes personal and professional growth for all of its employees.
Applicants must have:
-High quality (and volume) experience! Experience working with chefs of the caliber of: Portale, Vetri, Humm, Rucker, Bissonnette, Garces, or similar is preferred.
-Ability to pass a drug and background test.
-A strong work ethic with good organizational and critical thinking skills.
-Previous leadership experience.
-Passion for food.
-Ability to lead and adapt to the fast pace of this kitchen.
-Stay calm under pressure (again this is a professional kitchen).

Responsibilities for this working chef position include: kitchen operations, menu development (within scope of existing business plan) food preparation, food and supply ordering, training and supervising staff and interns. Chef will also supervise kitchen staff in the daily preparation of meals to ensure that methods of cooking, garnishing and portion sizing, inventories, pricing and cost controls are in place.
Kitchen cleanliness and sanitation are vitally important as are product rotation and separation to prevent cross contamination.
This position is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in a leadership role working for ownership that is engaged in their successful business and passionate about food. Ideal candidate will be energetic, enthusiastic, and creative, with a hospitality-focused attitude. The successful candidate will have at least a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and five plus years’ restaurant experience.
